Fire Protection Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • To monitor and supervise subcontractors’ work progression according to shop drawings, method statements, material and samples
  • To liaise and work with relevant authorities, sub-contractors or clients on shop drawings, materials and samples
  • Review and align Fire protection design drawings to ensure compliance with design specifications and guidelines (Sprinkler System, Fire Alarm System, Hosereel System, Wet/Dry riser system, Fire Hydrant System, Fire man intercom system)
  • Knowledge in M&E and able to Identify discrepancies between M&E, structural, ID, architectural and client provisions
  • Manage and execute project as per the schedule
  • To attend meeting with contractors to address issues and update progress
  • Study and reviewing of drawings, specifications for compliance
  • Allocate work to supervisors and ensure jobs are correctly and properly achieved within standards and SOP.
  • Plan and lead testing and commissioning of the fire protection systems.
  • Follow up with site / authority inspections, defects rectifications of the fire protection works.
  • Plan and prepare OMM, training, As-Builts drawings for handing over of completed fire protection systems to client.
  • Follow up with maintenance of fire protection systems during DLP.

Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Building Services
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Proficient in MS office
  • Good communication and written skills
  • Experience in Water Mist system and/or foam system is added advantage
  • Able to work independently and possess good interpersonal skills
